How is Libertex regulated ?
Libertex is regulated :
- In Europe by CySEC (Cyprus Securities Exchange and Commission) in Cyprus
- In other countries by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in St Vincent and Grenada
The origin of the Libertex brand is the Russian company group Forex Club, which was established in 1997. In 2010, the group launched a brokerage service by acquiring Russian broker Akmos Trade. It quickly became a leading broker in its country and Libertex was launched in June 2015. Several high-profile ambassadors have worked with the brand, the most famous of which are football stars (Colombian James Rodriguez).
It should be noted that for some years Forex Club was present in the United States. Its license was revoked in 2012 for regulatory reasons. The company was even fined $300,000 by the National Futures Association (NFA) for various breaches.

- Use of a complex encryption protocol : to secure the data and financial assets of its users, Libertex uses SSL 256 and account segregation. It separates its own funds from those of its customers. The latter are placed with the platform’s approved partner banks.

Its simplicity, its trading app, its customer service and its pricing policy are the points that allow it to obtain very good reviews. However, some users complain about the long withdrawal times due to authentication difficulties.
Who is Libertex for ? Our opinion
Our review of Libertex is very positive. The broker offers a very satisfactory trading experience, combined with fees that we found competitive, even if they are not at the level of the cheapest CFD brokers on the market. Libertex is a specialist CFD broker : it does not offer live trading. In particular, it is the CFDs on crypto-currencies that are the main strength of its offering.
Libertex will suit day traders who are active in crypto CFDs. For trading Forex and CFDs on stocks, indices and commodities, we believe that brokers XTB and eToro are better alternatives.
Here is a summary of the main benefits of Libertex :
- A high-performance trading platform : The web trading application offered by Libertex is excellent. The charts are very intuitive, order placement is very fast and it has even received awards from the financial press. In addition to this platform, you can also trade on Metatrader 4
- Competitive trading and ancillary fees : Libertex’s fees are competitive and transparent. Unlike other brokers, Libertex displays its spreads in %, which makes them much more obvious than if they were expressed in pips or points.
- A complete offer : Libertex offers both direct shares and ETFs, and a CFD offer with leverage. It is therefore a broker that allows you to invest and trade at the same time.
- Responsive and available customer service : we have identified customer service as a strong point of Libertex. The team of advisors is available 24 hours a day, and communication can take place in many languages. So no matter where you are, this should not be a problem.
The main disadvantages of Libertex are
- A still small number of direct stocks and ETFs : Libertex still offers less than 500 stocks, while brokers such as XTB and eToro offer more than 3000. Nevertheless, we also noticed that the offer is very regularly updated.
- The presence of a commission on withdrawals : this is another drawback of Libertex. The broker charges 0.50% commission on withdrawals. On withdrawals by bank transfer, there is even a fee of up to €10.
Investing with Libertex : the markets
Libertex allows you to invest in Forex and CFDs, i.e. with leverage. However, it does not allow you to invest in the direct stock and ETF markets. Despite the leverage, clients are protected against negative balances by a margin closing rule. The broker closes a losing position to prevent a client from getting into debt. Clients also benefit from several account types depending on their profile and objective. They access the Forex markets from the most popular trading platforms.

Some information to remember about the Libertex share and ETF offer :

In our opinion, Libertex has a still limited offer of live stocks and ETFs, but this is an additional positive point for traders. The offer is indeed still limited, but we have no doubt that it will soon become as large as the offer of competing brokers such as eToro (over 4000) and XTB (over 3000). Libertex is therefore not only a simple broker for day trading on stocks and ETFs, it is also an excellent broker for investing in growth and dividend stocks in the medium term

Libertex allows its users to invest in 28 indices via CFDs. Its portfolio of assets includes the most profitable and prestigious indices such as the Nasdaq, S&P 500, FTSE 100, CAC 40, DAX, Dow Jones. - No risk of loss : on Libertex, you do not hold a position in cryptos. You only speculate on the price variation of a pair or a cryptocurrency. This means that you do not run the risk of hacking as is the case on cryptocurrency trading platforms.
- No commission on cryptocurrency trading : Libertex does not charge any fees for opening positions in CFD cryptocurrencies. The only fees you pay are the spreads which are very competitive compared to other brokers.

In our opinion, Libertex has a real advantage in its cryptocurrency offering. They are among the most qualitative instruments in Libertex’s offer. They are very diverse, but only available as CFDs. You will find the most popular cryptos such as Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum, but there are also lesser-known stocks such as Neo or Cardano that also offer good returns. At Libertex, it is also possible to cross the crypto-currencies with each other. You can trade on a pair like BTC/USD or BTC/EUR.

At Libertex, you can trade 16 commodities via CFDs. Just like other assets, the spreads on commodities are also very competitive. You can even consider day trading with the commodities offered on Libertex. In our opinion, the Forex pairs offered by Libertex are comprehensive overall. The absence of a fixed commission on the major pairs makes it a broker with low fees, not to mention the low spreads at any time of the day. On the minor pairs, the investor can use a leverage of up to 20 :1. Caution is advised on exotic pairs, however, as they are illiquid and may incur exorbitant commissions.

- Transparency in spreads : Libertex spreads are announced as a percentage and not in pips. This allows the trader to understand them easily. Compared to other brokers, Libertex has interesting spreads.
- Trading from 0.01 lot : On all instruments, Libertex allows traders to invest from the minimum lot. Beginning traders have the opportunity to start small on the platform.
Our opinion of Libertex’s trading fees is positive. The percentage display makes it easy for novice traders to understand the fees charged. In addition to the transparency, the trading fees of this platform are average. The spreads for commodities are the highest. We also appreciate the free fees on certain currency pairs.
Drop-off and pick-up fees
Withdrawal and deposit fees by bank transfer are 0.50% on Libertex. They are €1 for bank cards, but free for other payment methods. On PayPal, withdrawing funds is free and the payment is made instantly. Deposits and withdrawals by credit card take between 1 and 5 days to process.

Please note the following information on withdrawals and deposits at Libertex :
- Reasonable processing times : The processing times for transactions at Libertex depend of course on the payment method. For PayPal and Skrill, the funds are available instantly. For a withdrawal by bank transfer, you will have to wait between 3 and 5 days. For a deposit or withdrawal by credit card, the processing takes between 1 and 5 days.
- Reduced fees on Neteller and cryptos : at Libertex, you will enjoy reduced rates on deposits and withdrawals made in cryptos and on Neteller. Libertex charges 1% of the amount for each transaction.
In our opinion, Libertex has competitive fees on deposits and withdrawals. Please note that some brokers, such as XTB or Vantage FX, do not charge any deposit or withdrawal fees. If you want to take advantage of the free fees at Libertex, you should therefore opt for transactions with Skrill or PayPal. For a bank transfer transaction, regardless of the deposit or withdrawal amount, the fees do not exceed €10.
Additional costs
Libertex’s additional charges are the €10 inactivity fee. This fee applies from the 180e day of inactivity for accounts with less than €5000 outstanding. A conversion fee of 0.006% is also applied for instruments quoted in USD and if your account is denominated in EUR. The swap which is a daily interest is not clearly announced by the platform. However, it is applied every time you leave your position open.
Let’s summarize the additional costs on Libertex :
- No inactivity fee for amounts outstanding of €5000 : Libertex accepts 180 days of inactivity. Libertex will deduct €10 from your account. However, if you have €5,000 outstanding in your account, this fee does not apply.
- A conversion fee for trading in other currencies : if your account is denominated in EUR and you trade in USD, the platform applies a conversion fee of 0.006%.
Our opinion of Libertex’s ancillary fees is a bit mixed. The conversion fee is quite low if you want to trade in other currencies. On the other hand, the inactivity period granted by the platform is quite short. If a trader does not use his account for more than 3 months and his account balance is less than €5000, the platform will deduct the fees according to the announced scale.
Review of the Libertex trading platform
The Libertex trading platform is intuitive and very simple. It offers the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms as well as its own web application. Libertex is accessible on mobile and web browsers. The various awards received by its application suggest that it is a platform with a good overall performance, especially in terms of order execution quality. The news feed managed by Libertex is intelligent and adapts to the user’s habits.
Ergonomics and performance
The ergonomics and performance are remarkable, and the application is intuitive and fairly easy to use. Libertex is a platform that can be accessed from any medium and any browser. Its graphics are integrated into the platform. It provides you with drawing tools and technical indicators to help you analyse your trading. You can place orders and consult your trading history on the left-hand side of the platform.

Let’s mention some information about the Libertex trading platform :
- A proposal of the most popular platforms : Libertex offers its traders the MetaTrader 4 and 5 platforms. They are equipped with advanced technical analyses that allow traders to position themselves well on the instruments of their choice.
- A powerful mobile application : the mobile version of Libertex has all the features of the main platform. It allows you to manage your positions and make deposits and withdrawals.
In our opinion, the Libertex trading platform is a good one. The broker offers its users the choice between several popular tools and the in-house web application (accessible via a browser such as Chrome or Safari). There is no software to download to use this interface, which is advantageous. It is very easy to learn, and will not be a problem for beginner profiles. We only regret the absence of the Expert Advisor feature as on MetaTrader which would allow to automate trading strategies.
Technical analysis tools

Portfolios : contain all your trading activity. They are accessible from the MT4 platform. They show all your open trades and their details with profits and losses. You will also see your market exposure in real time.
Trading activity reports : are reports of your activity. It can be created from the MT4 and MT5 platforms. It contains information to assess your performance, identify weaknesses and plan future strategies.
The toolbox : shows you the measurement, figures, ranges, trend indicators and volatility. It is accessible in full screen mode of your chart. On Libertex, you also have the possibility to overlay several stock prices. It allows you to make a comparative analysis or a peer trading strategy.
The training offer : is analysis and training for traders at all levels. It allows you to attend regular webinars to learn about new developments and milestones in trading. The Libertex training gives you access to a demo account with €50,000 virtual.
In addition to these technical analysis tools, the platform provides its users with over 40 technical indicators to help them refine their strategies. These include moving averages, RSI and MACD.
In our opinion, Libertex offers good analysis tools. However, we note that they are rather limited compared to what competing brokers offer. For example, Libertex lacks a stock scanner, as XTB offers. It also lacks more detailed fundamental information on stocks and ETFs, as eToro offers (only on real accounts).
How to open a Libertex account ?
To open a Libertex account, there are 2 steps :

- Have your account verified
Step 1 : Create an account on the website
To open an account on Libertex, go to Libertex.org and click on the « Register » button on the homepage.
As shown in the image below, enter a valid email address, a password and a phone number.
After registering, you can access the trading platform. You can then use the demo account to practice.
Step 2 : Get your account verified
When you open your account, you will receive an email from Libertex to confirm your email address.
Once you have confirmed your email address, you can make a deposit (minimum $100 or €100). However, Libertex requires that 15 days after your first deposit, you proceed with the identity verification. Without this verification, you will not be able to withdraw your winnings.
As a regulated company, we must verify your identity within 15 days of your first deposit.
To verify your account, you must provide the following documents :
- Identity document : a scanned double-page colour copy of your open passport or both sides of your national identity card
- Proof of address : a scanned copy of an electricity bill or bank statement issued within the last 6 months. Your full name, address and the date the letter was sent must be clearly visible.
In our opinion, the speed with which a Libertex account can be opened can be surprising. You can trade without having to verify your account at first. The verification procedure only takes place after 15 days after your deposit. We therefore recommend that you have your account verified before depositing funds, as we do with any broker whose offer we have examined in detail.

- An excellent trading platform : a 100% web-based trading interface, which has won awards for its user-friendliness and speed of execution. In addition to this platform, you can also trade on Metatrader 4
- Competitive rates : even if they are not the best on the market, Libertex’s rates are globally competitive on Forex, index and commodity CFDs, and especially on crypto CFDs
- Responsive customer service : we have identified customer service as a strong point of Libertex. The team of advisors is available 24 hours a day, and communication can take place in many languages. So no matter where you are, this should not be a problem.
The main disadvantages of Libertex are
- A still limited offer on cash equities and ETFs : the offer has been launched recently, and we still have a limited number of stocks available. However, we have also noticed that the offer is very regularly updated. We therefore expect the offer to exceed 2,000 stocks soon.
- A 0.50% commission on withdrawals : this is another drawback of Libertex. Withdrawals are not free. Withdrawals by bank transfer are even subject to a fee of up to €10.
In conclusion, Libertex will be suitable for day traders active in crypto CFDs. For trading Forex and CFDs on stocks, indices and commodities, we believe that brokers XTB and eToro are better alternatives.
