How is Vantage FX regulated ?
Vantage FX is a broker regulated by several financial authorities :
- The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC)
- The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
- The Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC)

Our opinion on Vantage FX and its regulation is quite positive. We can consider this broker as reliable because it has no significant legal history. No aggressive canvassing either, which is very important. Vantage FX is a broker that uses careful communication (it is not allowed to advertise in Europe). It transparently displays terms and conditions and regulatory information, including CFD warnings.
What is the reputation of Vantage FX ?
Traders’ opinions of Vantage FX are excellent. It is even among the brokers with the highest customer satisfaction ratings. Our review of Vantage FX is positive. If you are a beginner or an experienced trader, Vantage FX is one of the best brokers to trade Forex. We therefore recommend this broker for Forex trading, whether it is day trading or swing trading. Our opinion of Vantage FX is that the Australian broker is primarily a Forex specialist. Vantage FX’s reputation can be considered to be based on its excellent Forex trading experience. Unlike many of its competitors, Vantage FX allows all trading styles : scalping, day trading, swing trading and automated trading via an expert advisor on MetaTrader. It even offers a VPS server service to run your trading robots 24 hours a day. Another advantage of Vantage FX is its ProTrader platform for chart analysis.
Investing with Vantage FX : the markets
Vantage FX allows you to trade Forex and CFDs with up to 1 :100 leverage. Unfortunately, it does not offer investments in direct equity markets or ETFs. It offers negative balance protection to avoid a negative account. The important point is that the trader can choose between several account types depending on his objective. Vantage FX gives you access to the Forex markets via several platforms including Metatrader.

Shares and ETFs
Vantage FX allows clients to trade 210 stocks (mainly large caps) via CFDs. It provides access to over 70 companies listed on exchanges in Europe and the UK. Also via CFDs, Vantage offers its clients the best US stocks, although it is limited to 50 stocks on the Nasdaq and Nyse. Unfortunately, you cannot invest directly in stocks and ETFs. CFD trading allows you to benefit from leverage. Note that real-time quotes and professional tools are free and unlimited on Vantage FX.

The following are some of the elements to be noted :
- The absence of ETFs in the Vantage FX range : The broker does not offer ETFs, either directly or via CFDs
- Only large caps : in European equities, only the largest stocks in each market are offered
Our opinion on Vantage FX is that it is not the best broker for trading stocks. A first disadvantage of Vantage FX is the limited size of its stock CFD offer : there are only 210. The second disadvantage is that the commissions are a bit higher than those of competing brokers. On the whole, other brokers are preferred to Vantage FX for these instruments (e.g. eToro and XTB).
Indices
With Vantage FX, you have the possibility to invest on 16 indices through CFDs. The most important indices are included in its offer, including the Dax 40, Nasdaq 100 and CAC 40. The most important stock indices are available on all platforms, whether MT4, MT5 or ProTrader. Another advantage is that scalping is allowed on these CFDs.

There is a lot of information about Vantage FX’s selection of index CFDs. Its offering is not very extensive, but it allows traders to invest in the most important indices.
The indices are available from 0.01 lot.
In our opinion, even if Vantage FX’s indices are not as diversified as other brokers, they are still interesting. Moreover, it does not only offer stock indices. The diversification of the indices allows you to access a multitude of stock baskets including stocks of the biggest companies such as Amazon, Netflix, Google, etc. The indices offered by Vantage FX are suitable for an active day trader.
Commodities
With Vantage FX you can invest in 16 commodities via CFDs. VantageFX is a good broker with which you can day trade Gold and WTI Oil, although its spreads on CFD commodities are not the most competitive in the market. Its spreads are average for the market. To ensure you have the experience of trading this type of CFD, we recommend opening a demo account with the broker. This way you will have a clear idea of the spreads applied at different times of the day.

Vantage FX offers a full range of the most profitable and widely traded fossil fuels and precious metals.
In our opinion, Vantage’s commodity offering is comprehensive, as it includes the most popular stocks. However, we deplore the spreads that are not competitive on commodities. Indeed, for a Copper-C the spread is 31.47 pips. Diesel-C also has very wide spreads of 64.95 pips. Also watch out for financing costs. Remember that in addition to these spreads, the broker applies them if you keep CFDs after the market has closed.
Forex
Vantage FX offers 40 currency pairs. The Forex CFDs include the 7 major pairs as well as a selection of exotic and minor Forex pairs. On the major pairs, Vantage FX’s spreads are really competitive on both the Standard and Raw accounts. Remember that Vantage FX is not a market maker, but an STP broker (which sends its clients’ orders directly to liquidity providers). It is therefore only an intermediary and is paid on the volume traded by its clients.

We noted the following main advantages of the Vantage FX offering :
- Accessible from 0.01 lot : Vantage FX allows traders to trade forex even with mini lots. This accessibility is possible thanks to its collaboration with leading liquidity providers.
- Direct access to the interbank market : Thanks to the so-called ECN and STP executions, Vantage FX is not a so-called « Market Maker » Forex Broker. Via the platform, you can trade currency pairs directly on the interbank market.
Our opinion of Vantage FX is that its Forex CFD offering is one of the best. With its competitive spreads and relatively low commissions, Forex is the highlight of its entire offering. Vantage FX is one of our favourite platforms for swing trading and day trading in Forex. In fact, its trading platforms offer a multitude of features for trading either with indicators or in pure price action.
The fees on Vantage FX
The fees on Vantage vary depending on the assets and the type of account opened. The main charges are :
- Spreads
- The commissions
- Conversion fees
- Turnover or swap costs
- Administrative costs
In general, fees on Vantage FX are competitive except on indices, commodities and equities. Conversion fees are applied when you trade in a different currency than your account. Vantage FX does not charge withdrawal fees or inactivity fees on its accounts. There are, however, commissions on the professional account and on the stock CFD.

Collection/deposit fee
Vantage FX does not charge withdrawal fees or deposit fees. The only exception is for international bank transfer withdrawals : only the first withdrawal in a month is free, with subsequent withdrawals being subject to a fee ($20 or €20 depending on the account currency).

In our opinion, Vantage FX does not pose any particular problems with regard to withdrawal or deposit fees. We also found that the broker did not have long delays in processing transactions. A withdrawal to PayPal, for example, takes about 1 hour to be credited to your account. In this respect, Vantage FX is an impeccable broker.

Vantage FX trading fees are displayed in spreads. Commission charges are only applied to Professional and Raw accounts.
CFD spreads are applied when you open a position in one of these instruments. Automatically, it generates a capital loss representing the broker’s commission. For example, on the EUR/USD currency pair, a spread of 1.4 means that the broker is paid $10.40 in fees on a $1000 position.
If you have a professional account or a Raw account, if you trade CFD Forex, the spread and commissions are applied. 2.5 per lot on a Raw account and $1.5 on a Professional account.
In summary :
- On a standard account : the target spreads are 1.4 points and can reach 5.4 points
- On the Raw account : spreads are mostly non-existent, however, a commission of $2.5 per lot is applied.
Our opinion of Vantage’s fees is mixed. It is true that it does not charge withdrawal, deposit or inactivity fees. However, the spreads on stock, index and commodity CFDs are average compared to the competition. Many brokers offer better. Despite this, it is an excellent broker for trading CFDs, thanks to its ultra-low spreads.

Our review of the Vantage FX trading platform is excellent, especially its ProTrader trading interface. It is a simple and modern platform, very rich in decision support features. It also offers a good presentation of information in the order ticket and is an accessible platform even for a novice trader. It is very easy to use, which greatly enhances the user experience. Ergonomics and performance
The ergonomics and performance of the ProTrader platform are really excellent. There are no surprises here, as all the main menus are available as soon as you open the system. The platform allows you to select an instrument and start trading. The platform is divided into 5 menus as shown in the image below :

- The graphics
- The economic calendar
- The news
- Trading history
During our test, we found some good points in terms of ergonomics
- Charts that are very pleasant to handle : the impression left by the handling of the charts is very surprising. Very fluid, very intuitive, one is quickly seduced by these charts based on TradingView
- You can detach the graphics : To do this, simply click on the header and split it into separate windows. It is then possible to work in multiple screens with Vantage FX.
- A choice of dark and light display modes : Initially, the display is dark, but if this does not suit you, you can switch to the light display.
In our opinion, Vantage FX is a really modern and professional platform. Trading with Metatrader 4 or 5, you will have no trouble getting used to it even if you are a beginner. But it is ProTrader that we recommend you trade on. It’s an excellent trading platform, similar to competitor XTB’s xStation 5, which is also one of our favourite platforms. Also, you don’t have to install any specific software on your computer : everything is cloud-based as it is a 100% web-based platform, you can open it from a regular browser.
Analysis tools
Vantage FX offers a range of analysis tools to its traders, the most useful of which are :
- The market buzz
- The ‘fundamental’ ideas of the day
- Analyst views (market points)
Here is what each tool can do for you :
- The market buzz : is a tool to analyse the social volatility of a financial instrument. It also allows to detect the best financial assets thanks to its real-time analysis of the media and social networks.
- The trading ideas : are complementary to the market buzz tool, as it detects triangles, trend channels, bevels, etc. of financial instruments, linked to events
- The economic calendar : offers a calendar of macroeconomic events with automatic time zone detection. Event alerts can be configured
- Analyst View : helps you make a decision based on technical fundamentals identified by Vantage FX analysts
Our review of ProTrader and its fundamental analysis tools is very positive. Traders who rely on fundamental analysis will be pleased with Vantage FX’s fundamental tools offering : economic calendar, news, trading ideas, alerts on fundamental indicators. The tools are very comprehensive. They are also free, which is a very important positive. There is no extra cost to use these tools. Generally speaking, such tools are only available on a subscription basis from traditional brokers.
How to open a Vantage FX account ?
To open a Vantage account, you must go through three steps :
- Complete the registration form
- Send in the supporting documents
- Depositing funds
Fill in a form
To find the registration form, go to the vantagemarkets.com platform. The broker gives you the choice between a real account and a demo account, you are not obliged to make a deposit on the latter.
The form is a form containing the classic information : name, first name, date of birth, address. In addition to this information, you are also asked to provide the currency of your account and to answer some questions.
Send the required documents
Vantage asks you
- An identity card or passport as proof of identity
- A gas, electricity or internet bill as proof of address
Only after verification is your account activated. Before that, there are restrictions that limit your access to certain features.
Depositing funds
To deposit funds into your Vantage account, use :
- A bank card : Visa or MasterCard
- Bank transfer : with your customer number and your ID as the object of the transfer
- E-wallet : Skrill, PayPal or Neteller
Opening an account with Vantage FX is very simple. The currency of the Vantage FX account is the dollar. Funds deposited in Euro, Yen or Sterling will be automatically converted to that currency. If you have opened a real account, the platform automatically opens a demo account with virtual funds of $50,000, allowing you to practice for 30 days without being forced to deposit real funds.
How to deposit and withdraw money on Vantage FX ?
To deposit or withdraw money at Vantage, you can use payment methods such as :
- Bank transfer
- Bank cards
- PayPal
- Krill
- Neteller
All you need to do is go to your personal space and click on the deposit or withdrawal tab. For your first withdrawal, the platform proceeds to a verification step of your banking data.

Some points to note on withdrawals :
- Payment requests are processed from 9am to 7pm : requests sent after 7pm will be processed the next day if it is a working day
- Withdrawal requests are processed according to the payment method : if you have made a deposit from PayPal, the amount of your next withdrawal request will be sent to PayPal
In our opinion, Vantage FX is rather reassuring about the deposit and withdrawal terms and fees : these are transparent and above all reduced. However, it is important to note that if you deposit with a PayPal account, only this PayPal account will be accepted for a withdrawal. We also noted the very fast processing of requests, which does not exceed 1 working day on the side of Vantage FX. Few brokers are that fast ! There is nothing negative to report about Vantage FX’s handling of withdrawals.
